The children and young people are an important part of our Church family at Castle Hill. We have a child protection policy, ‘Safe To Grow’, which is based on a model produced by the Baptist Union. Child protection training is arranged for our children’s leaders and they are CRB checked.

On Sunday mornings we run various groups where we aim to provide for the children from 2 years old onwards. The children are all in the service for the first 20 minutes or so and then they go to their groups.

Boulder Gang is the name we give to our Sunday morning children’s work for 2-11 year olds.  It comprises:

The children are part of ‘Little Gems’ until they go to school.  They play with the toys, listen to a Bible story, sing and do a craft activity.

‘Ground Breakers’ is for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.  We meet upstairs and have lots of fun with our friends. We learn more about Jesus and how much He loves us through stories, puppets, games and making things. We are often noisy and sometimes messy (glitter is our favourite!). We pray with bubbles, pictures and poems. We also spend a lot of time just chatting about what we’ve been doing and what’s on our minds.

‘Rock Solid’ is the group for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.  We meet in the conference room and the children learn more about Jesus, as we encourage them to put their faith in Him.  After leaving the Sunday service part way through, we sit round for a chat, and then explore the Bible through drama, games, creative stuff, and noise. We learn to pray, and get points for bringing a friend or Bible. And points mean prizes!
